Once every 10,000 years comes the Sha’Daa, two days when evil crosses the dimensional barriers and attacks the Earth. Sha’Daa: Tales of the Apocalypse is a collection of frightening tales that run the gamut from soul-shaking horror, to wry and ironic takes on the end of reality as we know it. Unlikely heroes in unusual locations around the globe battle not only for their own survival, but for all of humanity. For ten millennium demons and monsters have been mere folktales, relegated to obscure campfire orations to which we no longer pay heed. Make no mistake, the realms of hell endure, their denizens slaver with hatred, and now their time has come.

By Michael H. Hanson, Edward F. McKeown, C. J. Henderson, Deborah Koren, Arthur Sanchez, Jamie Schmidt, D. R. MacMaster, Jason Cordova, Nancy Jackson, Lee Ann Kuruganti, and Sarah Wagner

Editor Information:

Edward McKeown escaped from NY, but his old hometown supplies much of the background to his humorous “Lair of the Lesbian Love Goddess” shorts, as his new hometown in Charlotte, North Carolina does for his “Knight Templar” urban fantasy series. Ed is best known for his Robert Fenaday/Shasti Rainhell series of SF novels set on the Privateer Sidhe. He will soon debut a new series set in the same universe, featuring a 50,000 year old android named Maauro and her friend, a disgraced pilot named Wrik Trigardt, as they battle governments and the Thieves Guild for their freedom.

Reviews:

“This book is a great buy and I recommend it to all my friends. [Tales of The Apocalypse] is filled with heroes both great and small and they do their best to fight back the swarms of evil that threaten to claim our world. I say we all need to learn what we can about the Sha’Daa before it is too late!”
— Mike Griffiths, Innsmouth Free Press

“[Sha’Daa] is a hard-to-classify literary experiment and it deserves high praise for trying to break the mold of what constitutes an ‘anthology’ or even ‘novel’ of speculative fiction because it can be viewed either way.“
– Chris Welch, Flames Rising

“The same sense of awe and wonder that inspired readers to suspend disbelief and made Lovecraft’s fiction so popular and enduring ievident in many of the stories in Sha’Daa.”
— Joan Turner, Dark Scribe Magazine

“Part anthology, part round-robin novel (Remember long road trips with your siblings, where one of you began a story and the rest kept adding onto it until it was an unmanageable Behemoth? This is a version of that with self-control, and all the Behemoths are intentional), part apocalyptic fiction, part Lovecraftian cosmic horror, this is easily the most unique thing I’ve read all year, and I recommend it highly.”
— Megan Arkenberg, Mirror Dance
